Annual Chargepayers Meeting We held our Annual Meeting on 2nd May and representatives from North Yorkshire County Council and the Police attended to speak about speed in Brayton, in particular on Baffam Lane. Several options were discussed, but the residents attending the meeting were unhappy with all the suggestions made by the Officers. It was agreed that the Parish Council meet again with these representatives and also Staff at St Marys Primary School, to try to formulate a plan that will reduce speed and that residents will be happy with. We will then hold another public meeting to get a vote before any potential plans are made.

Chairman At the last meeting Mr Dave Peart was voted as our new Chairman and Ian Chilvers has taken over as Vice Chair. Members and Clerk wish to Thank Iain Nutt who had been the Chairman of the Parish Council for the last 14 years. All new contact details will be on the Notice board and our Website shortly.

Gateway Selby District Council is planning to improve the ‘gateway’ into Brayton, amongst other Villages. They want ideas to develop the roundabout on the A19/A63 coming in from Burn and would welcome your thoughts – please contact us with your views.

Current projects At the moment we are working on installing a Bus Shelter on Moatway, a Grit Bin on the St Wilfrids Estate and a Litterbin near the Butchers. We are also having some repair work done on our road across the Village Green at the end of May. If you have a request for a bin, or anything else you would like the Parish Council to be involved in, please contact us.
