OPEN DAY - A GREAT SUCCESS
Last Saturday's (10/10/09) Open Day at the Parish Community (Memorial) Hall was a tremendously successful day. The static displays (Art, Writers, History, Walkers, Wheelers, Bees, Allotments, Care Services and NHS) were well received and generated much interest. There was a long queue of children for the Face Painting. The activities in the hall (male choir, female choir and Gigong) raised spirits and knees. The Bingo and Quiz kept us on our toes. The free tea, cakes and sandwiches refreshed us. The Ceremonial Mayor, DMBC Councillor Ross Jones, congratulated Parish Council chairman Terry Wilde, the Management Committee and those attending for their community spirit. The successful day was a fitting memory to Jackie Clark. A number of people suggested an Open Day should become an annual event.

We are very sad to report that Jack who was a parish councillor, chairman of the parish hall hall management committee, and a DMBC councillor, passed away this week. The funeral will be on Friday 9th October 2009, 2pm at the Rosehill Cremetorium.
