LEYBOURNE
Leybourne is one of 28 parishes within the Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council area, with 1,232 households and a population of 3,235 (source 2001 Census). A predominantly residential settlement it is located just south of Junction 4 of the M20 with most of the more recent housing development lying to the east of Castle Way (A228) and north of London Road (A20).
The area benefits from a number of local community facilities - a Church, an Infant and Junior School, a Village hall, a Doctor's Surgery and local shops.
Residents of Leybourne have access to open spaces within the residential area e.g. the open space on Oxley Shaw Lane near to The Old Rectory, public house, known locally as the 'bomb site', the Castle Way open space also referred to as 'Donkey field', the School playing fields, and outside of the residential area to Leybourne Wood and Castle Lake.
Maidstone is the nearest large town.
