A Local Exchange and Trading System is operating here in the heart of West Dorset.
It puts you in touch with local people, local resources and all kinds of skills.
It's called South West Dorset LETS
It has over 200 members who exchange goods, services and skills - without using cash.
Members buy and sell using a local currency called NETS - named after Bridport's famous net making industry.
There is no interest charge.
You decide when to trade.

The deadline for newsletters is the 1st of the month of issue, i.e February 2010, April 2010, June 2010 etc. with the newsletter coming out approx. 2 weeks later. If you have an event you would like to publicise it can also be placed on this webpage. AGM 2010
The SW Dorset LETS AGM took place on Thursday 4th March 2010 at the WI Hall Bridport.
The meeting was followed by a short talk by Tracey Smith, a well-known local author and sustainable living advocate. Her book, 'The Book of Rubbish ideas' is a room-by-room guide to reducing household waste and she is the founder of UK National Downshifting Week.
