                                                   Important Information:

The Parish of St Bartholomew's, Albourne is one of three Parishes that make up the benefice of 'Albourne with Sayers Common and Twineham'. At present each parish church has it's own Parochial Church Council.

As you may have already heard, steps are being taken to improve and simplify the administration of the three Parishes and each of the Parochial Church Councils has recently reached agreement on the Parishes combining into one.

All residents of Albourne have an interest in their local Church - if only for baptisms, weddings and funerals, or as a historic building - and it is important that all concerned should have the opportunity to make their views known, before the final steps are taken.

As part of the process we will be holding a meeting, open to residents of Albourne, Sayers Common and Twineham in the early autumn.

When a date has been arranged we will let you have details of date, time and venue. We will also provide you at that time with a Question and Answer sheet which I hope will address any queries you have.

If there are questions, or representations, that you would like to put forward now, the Rector (01273 832129; davidswyer@f2s.com) or Martin Smith (01273 832352; lizandmartinS@aol.com) will be glad to help.

This website has been designed and constructed to provide what the Parish Council hope will be a valuable resource, especially to find out more about what is happening within the Council and the wider Albourne community.  As the site develops we hope it will become the local access point for information about the Parish Council and principal Local Authority Services and further advice on these services.  Our 'Useful Links' page contains a number of links to websites that will be of interest to a wide range of residents.

 We plan that it will be a further resource for community development and support through:

• involving local people more in what is happening in the village;

• improving communication;

• engaging everyone in local issues, through providing you with more information.

All within the parish we hope will share views and create positive change in what might be a fast changing world for us in the coming years.

To find more information within the site, use the navigation buttons on the left hand side of each page.

We also intend through the website to help us increase our links with the community.  If you would like to advertise your event on the site, please contact us.
