Local Church

St Michael the Archangel in the Parish of Galmington

St Michael's Church is situated in Pitts Close, Galmington, Taunton TA1 4JP.

Vicar: Rev Colin Snell

History

Prior to the expansion of the area that became the Parish of Comeytrowe, religious services were held in a tin hut in Hovelands Lane.  The population of Comeytrowe Parish gradually increased to such an extent that in the early 1980s it became apparent that more facilities were required for the new communities.  When the new shops and doctors' surgery were built, the developers also included a new, purpose place of worship.  Hence, the birth of St Michael's Parish Church.
