St. John's Square
The development at St. John's Square is well underway with the Durham County Council Multi-User Centre nearing completion. The vision for the Square includes a new development with a range of public facilities, clustered around a traditional square, replacing the bus station, the current health centre, library, Durham County Council offices and Pop-in centre for older people. The new job centre which was built in 2005 will remain.
The official 'ground breaking' ceremony was held on 27th August, 2009 attended by the Mayor of Seaham, and work started on 1st September.
