St. John's Square
The vision for the Square includes a new development with a range of public facilities, clustered around a traditional square, replacing the bus station, the current health centre, library, Durham County Council offices and Pop-in centre for older people. The new job centre which was built in 2005 will remain.
Many of the existing uses will remain in the square in a new Multi-purpose complex planned by Durham County Council and new health related buildings for the Primary Care Trust.
