Affordable Housing

As a result of the Government's White Paper a survey was carried out within Clent Parish to ascertain if there was a need for affordable housing. It was proven that a need existed for persons who had connections with the Parish and wished to reside here, but could not afford to buy at todays market prices.

West Mercia Housing, a non profit organistaion, has been very active looking at any site that would be suitable, from a sustainablity point of view and acceptable to Bromsgrove District Council.

The Parish Council resolved to support an application for eight units on Centenary Field bordering Holy Cross Green. An application will be submitted in due course to Bromsgrove District Council.

PARISH LENGTHSMAN

If residents are aware of any highway jobs, which require attention, please advise the Clerk in the first instance (710255).

This is a Partnership arrangement with the County Council who have assured the Council that the Grant will continue for the coming financial year.

HIGHWAYS

Bromsgrove Road  -  County Councillor, Ed Moore has assured the Council that the flashing 30mph signs will be installed by 'The Old Chapel' . The Parish Council will continue to press for an additional sign at the junction with the A491, but apparently during speed checks most drivers were observing the 30mph limit, which means that this sign is not high on WCC list of priorities.

BROMGROVE RURAL RIDES

The Parish Council will be giving a grant for this service and would like to bring to your attention that is available for persons who, because of their personal limited mobility prevents them from using conventional forms of public transport or because of unsuitablity of a service. The service is avaliable for residents of the Bromsgrove District and can be used for essential jouneys such as medical appointment, shopping, welfare and recreational purposes.
